Our internal DEI programs, focused on career advancement and cultural awareness training, empower us to serve and connect better with our diverse customers and stakeholders.
Two Focus Areas
Recruitment, Advancement & Conduct
We are committed to building and preserving a diverse workforce and to providing equity in advancement and compensation at all levels. We set diversity targets and develop and regulate policies to empower all of our colleagues to succeed.
It is our leadership team’s responsibility to stay informed on the challenges surrounding diversity, equity and inclusion, and to pro-actively identify and address barriers within our organization.
Education & Culture
We encourage the exchange of lived experiences amongst our colleagues in order to challenge our individual biases, acknowledge our own privilege, build empathy for one another, promote inclusion and authenticity, and foster meaningful relationships.
We advance this pillar by bringing in keynote speakers, hosting internal panel discussions, celebrating diverse events, and sharing educational material.
Empowering Growth, Embracing Diversity and Building Inclusive Environments
Women Lead Here Benchmark
Choice continues to be recognized on The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business magazine’s annual Women Lead Here list. This annual benchmark identifies the largest Canadian corporations with the highest degree of gender diversity and parity among executive ranks. We are proud to have achieved 50%+ female representation at the VP+ level.
Homeward Bound Industry Council
Since 2022, Choice has been an active member of the Homeward Bound Industry Council. The Homeward Bound program, offered by WoodGreen Community Services, supports homeless or inadequately-housed single mothers to earn college diplomas, start careers and achieve financial stability and independence. As a member of the Council, Choice hires candidates from the program as well as offers educational sessions to introduce program participants to the broad range of employment opportunities available within the real estate industry.
Partnerships with CCDI and PAWC
Choice Properties is proud to be a community partner with the Canadian Centre for Diversity & Inclusion (CCDI) and Pride at Work Canada (PAWC), as both organizations provide education, advocacy and ensure safe and welcoming spaces for all.
