Luminato Festival

June 13, 2026

Luminato Festival brings art into the everyday fabric of Toronto, creating unexpected and memorable cultural experiences across the city. Each June, audiences are invited to experience contemporary, playful, and thought-provoking works that reflect the spirit of the moment. Rooted in Toronto yet reaching far beyond it, the festival connects local and global voices through storytelling, performance, and public engagement, inviting people to see familiar spaces in new ways.

Now celebrating its 20th anniversary edition in June 2026, Luminato Festival returns for its biggest celebration yet. Spanning nearly a month, this year’s festival features exceptional performances and bold collaborations with some of Toronto’s leading arts organizations, artists, and cultural partners.

Choice Properties is proud to host a special event as part of the festival’s city-wide programming at 10 Lower Jarvis Street (Loblaws store). This event contributes to the broader festival experience by creating an engaging cultural moment within a vibrant retail setting, blending everyday space with extraordinary artistic expression.

Programming

Join us for an afternoon of art, music, performance, and play as part of Luminato Festival’s 2026 theme, Play.

Experience Mal Perderdor (Bad Loser), the signature clown show by Tato Villanueva. Blending archery, opera singing, and circus arts, this hilarious and captivating performance turns failure on its head, reminding us that sometimes losing can be just as entertaining as winning.

Throughout the event, a live mural painting will take shape before your eyes, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process and adding colour and energy to the space as the artwork evolves in real time.

Music will be provided by DJ Phillippe, whose vibrant mix of house, disco, and global sounds will keep the atmosphere lively throughout the afternoon. Whether you’re stopping by for a performance, watching the mural come to life, or simply enjoying the festival atmosphere, there will be something to discover around every corner.

Guests of all ages are also invited to join in the fun with interactive lawn games, including cornhole and other casual activities designed to bring people together through a little friendly competition and play.
