Located in Barrie’s north end, this dog run is where morning walks turn into quick catch-ups, and where dogs greet each other like old friends. Now in its second year, HalloWOOF Barrie returns to haunt the neighbourhood once again, marking two years since Choice Properties opened the Barrie Dog Run at North Barrie Crossing plaza, a space built to give local dogs and their people somewhere to gather.

This October, we’re bringing back the costumes, the contest, and the community that made last year’s celebration a hit.

The afternoon is hosted by Sarah Freemark of CTV Barrie, featuring the HalloWOOF Dog Costume Contest, with prizes across three categories:

• Best Homemade Costume
• Best Store-Bought Costume
• Best Couple Costume, for the top dog and human duo

Dogs can pose at Halloween photo installations and take home a printed photo.

DJ Mike Cabral keeps the music going throughout the afternoon.

Coffee and snacks from Tim Hortons, plus a trick-or-treat biscuit bar stocked by Pet Valu Cundles, keep everyone fueled.

About the Dog Run

The Barrie Dog Run spans over 9,000 square feet and features paw friendly surfaces, a secure double fenced entry, separate areas for small and large dogs, seating for owners, and a waste disposal zone, all part of Choice Properties’ approach to creating spaces where communities can gather and connect.

Conveniently located off Highway 400 at the Duckworth St. exit, the Barrie Dog Run is an easy stop whether you’re coming from across town or just down the road. Free parking is available on-site at North Barrie Crossing plaza, so you can pull in, grab a coffee, and let the pups lead the way.
